What is OER and how do I access free textbooks?

Answer

OER stands for Open Educational Resources which are educational materials distributed for free on the Internet. Need a textbook or journal for a class? You might find it or an equivalent online. See our guide for many resources. Other sources available: Archive.org, Open Textbook Library, Project Gutenberg, Open CultureOpen Bookshelf  or Open Syllabus might have older editions of a required textbook online either as a PDF or eBook. You can also access some ebooks through the library: https://www.msmc.edu/library/find-information/books-ebooks-dvds/ebooks/.
