What is the difference between works cited, reference list and a bibliography?

Answer

Works cited (MLA) and References or Reference List (APA) have the same meaning, it depends on which citation style you use. It's an alphabetical list of sources, arranged by author's last name, that you've cited and used to write your paper.

A bibliography is also an alphabetical list by author, but it includes all the sources you've consulted whether you have cited them in your paper or not.
