What is a database?
Answer
A database is an online collection of resources that contain articles and information from sources that are mostly academic or professional journals.
- The library pays for database access through a subscription. It's doubtful you will to find them or the articles they contain by searching Google.
- Some databases are "multidisciplinary"--meaning they contain articles on a wide variety of topics. Other databases are more specialized and may focus on particular subject areas such as business, nursing, or psychology.
- The articles are written by professionals and experts in their fields, so they are credible.
The Kaplan Library subscribes to over 80 databases, here is an alphabetical list.
If you are uncertain where to begin, you can search by subject.
