What is the difference between "Main" and "Reference" when referring to locations within the library?

Answer

The Kaplan Library has two main floors, Main 1 and Main 2. Materials within the book stacks of both main floors may be checked out, borrowed or circulated, the meanings are the same.

The Reference section is separate from the main sections and is located on the first floor near the entrance doors and the printer. The books in this section are marked with a big R on the spines and are reserved for use only within the library and can't be checked out. The reference collection includes dictionaries, Bibles, Bible studies, drug handbooks, literary criticisms, maps and encyclopedias. Across the room, under the windows, are bound Master's theses, some career books and test-review guides that must also be used within the library. See the circled area on the map below.
